It is early…and I’m up. Thought the boy was waking up so managed to convince myself to get out of bed. As soon as I poured my coffee his whining waned and now I’m half way through my first cup and its pure silence. So, now is as good a time as ever to finally post.
Can you believe it’s almost September? Seriously. This is ridiculous. I know I was pretty silent all summer but rest assured that we were having fun.
Wade is becoming a little fish. Not quite like a dolphin who ventures out into deep water…more like a minnow who stays near the steps. But nonetheless a sea creature.
This shot kinda looks like he’s got a little belly. Don’t be fooled. This boy is his daddy’s child. He weighs in at a whopping 22lbs…that means only 8% of boys his age weigh less. The probable reason for the mirage of the belly above is because those swim trunks are a size 6-12mo. Here is a slightly more accurate shot of how his clothes fit him (these shorts are a size 18mo):
***However, lest you be concerned, his head circumference up in the 65th % continues to give proof of his brain power.
You can’t quite tell but in the above photo he is Swiffering the floor, which is one of his favorite pastimes. Actually Swiffering is really just training for his very favorite hobby, MUCH to his daddy’s delight, GOLF!!!!
This shot is from his amateur days back in July. He has since graduated from bubble wand and tennis ball to real golf club and ball (although, no real golf balls in the house…for daddy or Wade).
Somehow I do not have a shot of Tiger Jr. in action but I’m sure I can catch one as soon as he wakes up since he’ll be looking for his club first thing. Last weekend we went to the driving range with David & Anna (so us girls could practice for the upcoming 2nd Annual Wade Scharff Memorial Golf Tournament (those Scharff boys sure know how to honor their dad!). I am not joking, Wade “putted” around for the entire 1.5hrs. that we were there. Once we went over to the actual putting green it was like the world had opened up before his eyes…the realization that there are holes in the ground that you hit the ball into cemented his love of the game forever! Priceless. At 8:30pm when we finally began our exit he literally wailed all the way to the car!
It’s 8:06am now and I’m probably pushing my luck on time. So I’m going to wrap this thing up. But just want to share one last thing. Here’s my little man helping mommy make Strawberry Crisp dessert yesterday…
There’s so much more I want to share about this sweet guy. He is just a ball of life. So many nights after he’s gone to sleep I just get overwhelmed thinking about what a blessing he is. Hope you get to see even a little piece of that through this blog.
