Months ago David and Andrew started training for the Nashville "Music City Marathon". Their goal was to finish in under 3 hrs. About 8 weeks ago Andrew was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his leg and had to quit training. Two weeks ago he began running again and the pain was gone. After seeing a specialist, he decided to go ahead and run the marathon.
Now a marathon is 26.2 miles. Generally people train for a very long time to run one. Andrew and David, being the cross-country superheroes that they are, thought it was no big deal to run with almost no training. Everyone made them promise to go slow (which is like making Wade promise not to poop-ha!).
So, we made plans to go to Nashville and stay with my college roommate Rachael (Harless) Milligan. It turned out that Rachael's husband Matt, her dad and her sister were all planning on running the half marathon. It was a great reunion!

Here are David and Andrew at mile 9. True to their word they took it slow. In fact, they actually stopped running to talk with us and take this photo!
Rachael's dad, Walton, looking good at mile 9!
Wade slept almost the entire race! He had a great time meeting his Milligan/Harless family. Unfortunately since we had to wake up at 4am to get to the marathon he's gotten his schedule all confused. He woke up Sunday morning and this morning at 4am, ready to eat! Anybody got suggestions on breaking this new habit? I let him cry about 20 minutes this morning but finally fed him a little when he wouldn't stop. Here are the boys crossing the finish line at 4hrs. 10minutes. Pretty crazy that they consider that a slow marathon!
These medals are much smaller than the Little Rock "Big Bodacious" medals!

Yes, 4h 10m for a "slow marathon" is crazy. Way to so Andrew!
