7th Monthabirthday and shots...

Wednesday marked 213 days of life (outside the womb) for Wade...also known as 7 months. I cannot believe it's been that long, so much so that I totally forgot it was his b-day until late last night. Credit where credit is due: it was Andrew who reminded me.

Sidenote: Andrew is gifted in many, many ways. One of them is NOT remembering important dates. He once had to sneak my drivers license out of my wallet to check my birthdate!

So, here are your pics.

Thursday we visited Dr. Wiley for Wade's 6 month checkup (I know, we're a little late). This included a little sippy sip vaccine followed by 3 lovely shots. Wade, of course, was incredibly brave. He didn't even realize what was going on until shot numero tres.

The big news:

Length = 27 1/2 inches

Weight = 17 lbs. 6 oz.

Believe it or not Mr. Chubbers is now in the 35th percentile for his weight! His length is still above average at about the 70th percentile. That means he is tall and skinny.

Another interesting bit you may or may not have known about Wade involves his 4th toes. I suppose they would be called your "ring toes". Since birth this toe on both feet has been bent...

One foot is correcting itself a little as he grows. But the other is not.

Our concern about the toes has a lot to do with...

Andrew's pinky fingers were slightly bent at birth. As a baby and child his parents were told to wait until he got older to have it fixed. But as a teen he was told he would pretty much have no use of his pinkies if they straightened them out, that the doctors should have corrected it before he was done growing! So, now Andrew has bent pinkies. While they have been known to spur interesting conversations, he'd certainly rather they be straight. Although if they were straight what would he blame a bad round of golf on...JK.

Anyway, all of this to say Dr. Wiley is sending us to a Pediatric Orthopedic Specialist to check out his ring toes. I'll keep you updated.

Riley did the same thing. Between 6 and 9 months he only gained like 6 oz and went from the 50th to the 25th percentile in weight. And he used to be in the 90th percentile when he was 2 and 4 months old. I guess all his activity and mobility really caused him to slim down. They grow up sp fast don't they? Good luck with the toes ( but i think they're kinda cute :))
